Last year Pico Technology outgrew its old building and moved into James House (find us on Google Maps). Our first electricity bill gave us a shock, as at the present rate of consumption our electricity will cost us £55k a year. To help us monitor our energy usage and find out where we can save energy, we have installed an EnviroMon system. EnviroMon is our own environmental monitoring system for gathering temperature measurements and other data from large sites, so we think it’s going to be ideal for keeping a watch on our new building. Another great feature of EnviroMon is its ability to display its data on a website in real time (here it is) - a feature that we expect to use frequently on this blog.

Here are some floor plans showing the rooms that we will be referring to:

In future posts we shall explain the energy-saving measures that we have taken, and we hope to be able to demonstrate the energy savings we have made using graphs from EnviroMon.
